What is Solway Heritage?

Solway Heritage is a Company limited by guarantee, a Registered Charity, and a registered Environmental Body under the Landfill Tax Regulations.

How can Solway Heritage help You?

With a multi-disciplinary professional team, Solway Heritage is uniquely placed to offer a holistic approach to delivering projects.

Solway Heritage receives some public funds to support its work and is grateful to Scottish Natural Heritage and Dumfries and Galloway Council for their funding support.  However, it must recoup almost three quarters of its costs from fee income.

Solway Heritage is able to offer expertise and support to community projects in a way that statutory organisations (such as the Council) and many voluntary organisations, are not equipped to do.  It does this through project management, by giving advice and guidance and by securing grant aid for communities throughout Dumfries and Galloway.

Consider your requirements against Solway Heritage's four objectives and look at the 'Services' page to see the skills that the Company can offer.  If you are in any doubt, please contact us anyway!

Solway Heritage has four main objectives:

Objective 2

  • To conserve and enhance buildings or artefacts of architectural or historic interest, particularly in Dumfries and Galloway

Objective 3

  • To conserve and enhance landscape and wildlife resources, particularly in Dumfries and Galloway
