Dumfries
and Galloway Wildlife Festival
2 April - 18 April 2010
Welcome to the seventh Dumfries and Galloway Wildlife Festival. 2010
is International Year of Biodiversity and the festival offers a great opportunity to see some of our fantastic wildlife and
the work that is going on to care for it across Dumfries and Galloway. This is the biggest festival ever with over 60 events
included in the programme. Look out for species such as geese, badgers, salmon and of course red kites! New additions
to the 2010 programme are poetry events featuring award winning writers and top musicians, a photography workshop run by local
wildlife photographer Keith Kirk and an art workshop at Cairnsmore of Fleet NNR with the chance to try your hand at portraying
the local wildlife in clay. Popular activities held again this year include the Stars and Stripes badger watches at
WWT Caerlaverock, visits to RSPB Mersehead reserve to see lots of wildfowl and waders and a whole range of family activities
for Easter. So something for everyone to enjoy!
