Dumfries
and Galloway Wildlife Festival
2 April - 25 April 2011
Welcome to the eight Dumfries & Galloway Wildlife Festival. The festival
is going from strength to strength. This year is the biggest ever with over 90 events included in the programme! Look out
for events with species such as geese, badgers, salmon and of course red kites! New additions to the 2011 programme are the
geology excursions including a trip to an open cast coal mine, a wildlife photography exhibition at Mersehead where you can
submit your own photographs for judging, storytelling and poetry workshops for children and adults and a canoe safari on the
River Nith for the more energetic! Popular activities held again this year include the Stars and Stripes badger watches at
WWT Caerlaverock, guides in the hides at Wigtown Harbour to point out the wildfowl and waders and a whole range of family
activities for Easter. So something for everyone to enjoy!
