The
2010 Environment Fair has doubled in size and now on Saturday 6th March the popular and interesting family events will
be taking place complemented by a Community Day on Friday 19th March. The Community Day is by invitation only so please
contact us if you would like to attend.
Come along and learn how you can make a difference to the environment locally
and globally, in an interactive and interesting way! Dumfries and Galloway Council Waste Management will be
on hand to give advice on composting, preventing food waste, reducing unwanted mail and if you’re interested, you could
even sign up for the Household Waste Challenge to try a food digester (limited spaces available). A number of conservation
organisations will be there to help guide you to your nearest local nature reserve and to walks in your area; find out how
to record wildlife sightings or about volunteering opportunities. There will also be a chance to watch interesting presentations
ranging from ‘Waste Management Ecodeco Waste Treatment Facility’ to the ‘Wildlife of Dumfries and Galloway’
or join a workshop to weave a willow trellis for the garden.
